The disease of FAI is basically multifactorial hip disease, in which the person experiences pain due to the rear-ender of the femoral head, which is commonly known as the ball in the hip joint. When the hip ball, gets collision, its contact with the acetabula, which is the socket in the hip joint gets disturbed, resulting in a paining sensation on the lower hip region of the body.

Whenever there is a hip flexion, the body experiences and intensified sensation of pain in the body, which is the foremost indication of the problem of Femoroacetabular impingement or FAI. Most of the times, when this condition of hip flexion occurs are when the individual is doing squats, sitting, lifting his hip. But this condition of FAI can also occur in situations like, performing sports activates, walking, or licking anything. The person experiences a paining sensation in such conditions, because there is a movement of hip involved, as the body rotates itself.

When the condition of FAI does occur?

When the labrum in the body, which is also refereed as the hip joint, undergoes any sort of damage, there is a resultant inflammation in the capsule. There are basically two types of hip impingement which are observed in people. It includes pincer and cam deformation of the hip joint. But the majority of people are known to suffer from the mixture of these two types.  In cam type of hip impingement, the femoral necks get widened, and in the pincer type, the acetabulum gets extended.
